When They Gathered, 2024

When They Gathered, 2024

Acrylic on Canvas, Triptych 36" H x 36" W, 36" H x 48" W, 36" H x 36" W The inspiration for this piece comes from my ancestral connection to Tee Jop (Four Lakes) where my ancestors once established villages. They gathered here, built communities, performed ceremonies, harvested wild rice, and fished using dugout canoes. In the spirit of my ancestors, I aimed to capture their resilience and perseverance through the use of soft colors and intricate layers in my painting.
